Meet The Team
Meet our New Grad PMHNP Residents

Monissa Richards, PMHNP-BC
Monissa Richards is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) and a new-graduate resident at Restorative Mindset & Behavior Institute PLLC.
Monissa earned her Master of Science in Nursing, specializing in psychiatric mental health, from Walden University, following a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Springfield College. Her path into psychiatric care was built on years of hands-on behavioral health nursing, giving her a strong foundation in both the clinical and human sides of mental health care.
Monissa's behavioral health nursing experience includes psychiatric admissions work, where she conducted psychiatric assessments for children, adolescents, and adults and helped determine the right level of care for each patient, as well as inpatient behavioral health practice delivering psychiatric and substance use treatment across the lifespan, including service as a charge nurse. Her background further includes medical-surgical and rehabilitation nursing and frontline COVID-19 care early in the pandemic.
Across every setting, Monissa has been known for her calm presence in crisis situations, her careful patient assessments, and her commitment to patient and family education. As she begins her career as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, she brings both fresh clinical training and the depth of experience that comes from years at the bedside.
Outside of work, Monissa enjoys time with family and is proud to serve the community she has cared for throughout her nursing career.
